D-87 | Coronary Intravascular Lithotripsy In Acute Stent Underexpansion: A Case Series
Stent underexpansion due to adverse lesion characteristics like heavy calcification increase the risk of acute stent thrombosis and in stent restenosis. Plaque modification using atherectomy or Shockwave intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) may not result in full balloon expansion in all cases. In such cases, post stent implantation atherectomy may risk damaging the stent and its polymer drug coating. The use of IVL immediately following stent deployment was not studied in the DISRUPT-CAD trials. Herein we present a case series with off label use of IVL in acutely under-expanded stents.
