Autonomous Energy Supply for Country Houses in Ukraine

The growing demand for energy independence and reliability in Ukraine, especially in rural areas, has intensified the interest in decentralized and autonomous energy systems. This trend is driven by frequent grid disruptions, regional disparities in energy access, and increasing household energy expenditures. This article examines the issue of autonomous energy supply for country houses in Ukraine. It focuses on assessing energy needs, selecting appropriate energy sources, and evaluating the efficiency of renewable technologies in the context of rising energy tariffs, economic instability, and climate change. The study aimed to analyze the potential of solar, wind, bioenergy, geothermal, and small-scale hydropower systems, considering the country’s natural and climatic conditions. It analyzes the performance results of a residential solar power plant located in the village of Dovzhok, Kamianets-Podilskyi district, Khmelnytskyi region, for the year 2024. Special attention is given to hybrid solutions with backup power options, energy storage systems, and intelligent energy management for improved efficiency. The authors provide recommendations based on technical, financial, and local factors. The article will be useful for engineers, energy specialists, designers, and homeowners interested in reliable and environmentally friendly energy solutions. The findings highlight the practical benefits and limitations of various technologies under real-life conditions. They also emphasize the importance of integrated approaches in achieving sustainable and resilient residential energy autonomy.
