MONITORING AND ASSESSING PUBLIC ATTENTION TO THE SDGS: REGIONAL ASPECT
The relevance of the research topic is related to the importance of providing public support for the activities of public authorities in the process of implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (hereinafter - SDGs) in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The aim of the research: to determine the level of awareness of residents of different regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan about the implementation of national projects within the framework of the Sustainable Development Agenda. To achieve this goal, the method of sociological survey conducted in a remote form using an interactive standardised questionnaire was used. Specialised computer programme SPSS was used to process the results of the survey. The study assessed the involvement of regional residents in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda. Particular attention was paid to how the national priorities of social and environmental policy are embodied in management decisions taken at the regional level. The paper concludes that it is necessary to develop a set of measures to increase the involvement of regional population and business structures in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda; to address the issues of disaggregation of SDG indicators and to develop a system for monitoring the achievement of SDG indicators in the context of regions. The practical significance of the research is determined by the recommendations developed based on the results of the survey for regional authorities, which allow to ensure a more complete consideration of sustainable development goals in the implementation of regional policies.
