Node Bearing Vector System: Advance in 3D/2D Vector Storage and Mesh Design
This paper presents a novel 3D modeling method that integrates polygonal modeling and nonuniform rational B-splines (NURBS) using node vectors, bearing vectors, variable edge lengths, and vector depth. The proposed node bearing vector (NBV) system offers a flexible and memory-efficient alternative to traditional polygonal modeling while achieving high-quality results comparable to those of NURBS. A key contribution is the development of a polygon-editing tool that supports real-time interaction with near-NURBS accuracy. Although the NBV system was implemented in Python, further testing is needed to check its compatibility with the OpenGL, WebGL, and DirectX platforms.
