Interleaved Switched-Inductor-Based SIPO Partial Power Converter Module for Battery Management Systems
Given the diverse operating voltage range and different operating modes of the battery management system (BMS) within renewable energy systems and DC buses, there is a demand for a highly efficient up/down bidirectional converter. A modular-based and series-connected partial power converter (S-PPC) using an interleaved switched-inductor series-input-parallel-output (SIPO) structure is proposed. Each module is a dual active clamped flyback-derived (DACF) bidirectional DC-DC converter without output capacitor. A 2.4kW, 800V / 600V prototype with the efficiency of 98.79% has been built and evaluated. The experimental results are favorably compared with theoretical predictions.
