Manipulation of Electromagnetic Wave Propagation in Complex Scattering Scenarios Based on Joint Operators

Multifunctional manipulation of electromagnetic wave propagation has become indispensable in numerous promising applications. However, achieving efficient wave manipulation in complex scattering scenarios remains a significant challenge due to the inevitable and disordered scattering characteristics. This paper introduces a notable and efficient methodology for multifunctional manipulation of electromagnetic wave propagation. Specifically, the group T-matrix algorithm is leveraged to model and characterize the scattering spaces, offering superior efficiency and accuracy compared to traditional full-wave analysis methods. Subsequently, the principle for establishing the channel matrix is presented from an electromagnetic perspective. Furthermore, two joint operators, namely the common and difference operator, are also proposed to achieve different manipulation performances. Based on corresponding optimization strategies, the proposed methodology shows excellent effectiveness and robustness to address the challenges of multifunctional manipulation in complex scattering scenarios. Finally, the versatility and performance of the proposed methodology are comprehensively demonstrated through both numerical and experimental examples.
