Current Sensorless Control Strategy for Single-Phase T-Type PFC Converter

This paper presents a current sensorless control strategy for a single-phase T-type power factor correction (PFC) converter. Unlike conventional multi-loop control schemes that require the measurement of input AC voltage, output DC voltage, and inductor current, the proposed control algorithm only uses feedback from the input and output voltages. This approach effectively regulates the output voltage and achieves power factor correction for the input current. Furthermore, the sensorless control strategy eliminates concerns regarding sampling inductor current, as it reduces the number of required sensors and simplifies the controller design. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed current sensorless control strategy achieves a unity power factor operation and minimizes total harmonic distortion in the current.
