OR2-20 | Potential Advantages of TAVI for Women Due to Relative Valve Sizing
Sex-specific differences in patient-prosthesis mismatch (PPM) following transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) remain understudied. Some studies have suggested female sex as a predictor of PPM, possibly due to anatomical factors like smaller native aortic annulus, or older age and frailty at presentation. This study aims to explore sex-specific differences in PPM following TAVI and assess whether women may benefit more from TAVI than men, given the valve sizing differences and other comorbid conditions.
