Combined effect of GSTT1 and GSTM1 gene polymorphisms on chemotherapy efficacy in breast cancer patients
Glutathione-S-transferase (GST) genes of the xenobiotic biotransformation system GSTT1 and GSTM1 are involved in the metabolism of endogenous and exogenous compounds, including drugs, by combining glutathione with electrophilic substrates. GST genetic polymorphism contributes to variability in the safety and efficacy of drugs.
