The present situation, problems and trend of the construction of PE teachers in colleges and universities in China in the past 20 years: Bibliometrics Analysis based on CiteSpace

with the deepening of China's education reform, the construction of PE teachers in colleges and universities has become a key factor to improve the quality of education and students' physical health, so it is of great significance to study its development trends and frontier hotspots. This study uses CiteSpace software to visually analyze 857 articles about the construction of PE teachers in colleges and universities from 2004 to 2024 collected by China knowledge Network (CNKI), in order to explore the development trends and frontier hotspots of the construction of PE teachers in colleges and universities in China. It is found that the research theme of school physical education mainly focuses on three hot areas: the construction and training mode of teachers, teaching reform and practice, new era and innovation, and the research on the construction of physical education teachers in colleges and universities has not yet formed a core author group. the cooperation of various institutions is less, the research force is scattered, and the joint force is not formed. Innovation and the integration of sports and education will be the research frontiers of school physical education in the future, in order to provide reference for the construction of physical education teachers in colleges and universities.
