Research on the progress, problems and trends of innovation and entrepreneurship in Chinese universities in the past 20 years: a visualization analysis based on CiteSpace
Based on the keyword of innovation and entrepreneurship development in colleges and universities, and limiting the time to October 20, 2001 to May 8, 2024, the statistics of the number of documents, citations, authors, keywords, etc. were performed on 968 documents retrieved from the China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). A visual knowledge map was drawn using the software CiteSpace to summarize research hotspots. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis of the article, it was found that the number of publications on innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities has increased year by year, the fields covered by journals are stable, a core group of authors has not yet formed, and research hotspots focus on “innovation and entrepreneurship, colleges and universities, entrepreneurship education, collaborative education, integrated development, talent cultivation, maker spaces, and professional education”. In this regard, the research hotspots and directions in this field in the future are proposed. A research system has not yet been formed, and the research questions have marginal attributes.
