Duas décadas dos PCNEM e PCN+ e uma década das DCN: como os parâmetros e as diretrizes podem atender e nortear a educação científica das juventudes do século XXI
The general objective of this study is to investigate the adequacy of Brazilian educational guidelines, represented by the National Curricular Parameters for Secondary Education (PCNEM), as well as their complementary guidelines, and by the National Curriculum Guidelines for Basic Education (DCN), to the educational and training challenges and demands of 21st century youth, with an emphasis on scientific education. The research methodology, characterized as qualitative, applied, exploratory, descriptive and bibliographic, involved a comprehensive analysis of these documents, and the results indicate positive resonances between them and current educational demands by revealing the importance of the PCNEM and its complementary guidelines and the DCN in relation to the scientific training of 21st century youth, as both highlight strengths such as the promotion of skills and abilities and the emphasis on the comprehensive education of students. However, gaps were identified, such as the need for more specific guidelines on the integration of digital technologies and a greater approach to diversity and inclusion in curricula. The considerations suggest training teachers in innovative methodologies, including digital skills in the curriculum and formative and continuous assessment that values not only cognitive ability, but also the integral development of students.
