Suspension and Roll Dynamics Comparative Analysis in an Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle and Electric Vehicle
People are increasingly relying on electric vehicles (EVs) as their electrification is recognized as crucial for meeting global climate targets and promoting sustainable transport. As the number of EVs grows annually, understanding the differences in dynamic behavior and performance between internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and EVs is essential. This study investigates the effects of suspension deflection and roll resistance in ICE vehicles and EVs through mathematical modeling, theoretical analysis, and computer simulations. The findings suggest that EVs offer less comfort in suspension performance compared to ICE vehicles; however, they exhibit greater roll resistance during cornering. These insights provide valuable information for the automotive engineering community, emphasizing important safety considerations.
