FINANCIAL LITERACY AND RESILIENCE AMONG HEI STUDENTS: IMPLICATIONS FOR WELL-BEING AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT

Financial literacy plays a crucial role in human development, particularly among higher education institution (HEI) students. Studies indicate that HEI students possess a high level of financial literacy and financial management practices; however, challenges remain in ensuring their long-term financial stability. The transition from student life to employment, rising living costs, and social and psychological influences are factors that may impact an individual’s financial resilience. Therefore, this conceptual paper explores the relationship between financial literacy and human development, as well as the challenges in strengthening financial management among HEI students. This discussion also highlights the need for further research to examine more sustainable financial strategies among students. The findings of this study serve as a reference for the development of more comprehensive financial education modules and support initiatives to enhance the long-term financial well-being of HEI students.
