Zamarznięta rzeka egzystencji. Namysł nad przemocą z perspektywy feminizmu i fenomenologii
As Maurice Merleau‑Ponty writes, the self expresses its being‑in‑the‑world through embodied acts of expression. The body opens the self to the world, the other, and the future, but it can also hinder this expression by enclosing the self within itself. In this text, I pose the question of gender differences in the manifestation of expression, which leads me to the conclusion that sexual violence has a significant impact on the formation of the female subject. I describe three phenomena of experiencing existence, linked to the experience of sexual violence and indicative of disrupted expression—abduction, living in hiding, and freezing—which I examine through the lens of temporality and spatiality. I devote particular attention to Merleau‑Ponty’s concept of the landscape as a space saturated with an atmosphere of meaning and as a creator of a „familiar place of our life.” Ultimately, the correlation I identify between the type of gendering and the experience of these three phenomena appears to shape the very structure of the subject, raising the question of the validity of seeking universal formulas for coexistence in philosophy.
