Estimasi Kandungan Karbon Serasah Mangrove Di Desa Sungai Nibung Kalimantan Barat
Mangroves have an ecological role such as a habitat where life In addition, mangroves play a role in reducing CO2 emissions from the air due to human activities, such as fossil fuels such as motor vehicles and so on. These emissions are one of the main causes of global warming and trigger global climate change. This study aims to analyze the production rate and carbon content of mangrove litter in Sungai Nibung village, Teluk Pakedai sub-district, Kubu Raya Regency, West Kalimantan. Mangrove leaf litter sampling was conducted for 15 days using a 1x1 m2 litter trap with a mesh size of 0.2 cm. Litter traps were installed at 3 observation stations with two repetitions. Litter samples were collected at 7, and 14 days. Litter is taken from mangrove plants (leaves, twigs flowers and fruit) that fall naturally. Based on the research that has been done, the conclusion of this study is that the production rate is located in the leaves with a value of 70.80% tons / ha / year. While the carbon content stored in mangrove serasa is 13.8% tons / ha / year. Therefore, mangrove forests in Sungai Nibung village play an important role in mitigating the greenhouse effect.
