Pengaruh exposure time dan postur tubuh terhadap cybersickness dengan indikator konduktansi kulit dalam penggunaan virtual reality
Cybersickness is a symptom caused by a mismatch between sensory nerves and perceptual nerves which results in nausea, dizziness, and the body losing balance. The factors that cause cybersickness are exposure time when using VR and the body posture of VR users, where currently there are still differences in research results on these two factors. Therefore, this research aims to identify the influence of exposure time and body posture on cybersickness in VR gaming activities and to provide appropriate recommendations to reduce the symptoms of cybersickness. The measuring instrument used is Galvanic Skin Response as an objective indicator and the Simulator Sickness Questionnaire (SSQ) questionnaire as a subjective indicator. A total of 48 participants were given the task of playing parkour in VR in sitting or standing postures and with different exposure times, namely 10, 20, or 30 minutes. The influence of exposure time and body posture can also be determined by carrying out the ANOVA test and the Kruskal-Wallis test. The results of the research show that exposure time has an effect on cybersickness with the maximum effect found at exposure time of 20 minutes with the highest SSQ average value of 109.863. (p-value = 0.046 < 0.05). Meanwhile, body posture also influences cybersickness with standing posture having a higher average GSR, namely 13.082 S and with p-value = 0.002 < 0.05. The proposed recommendation that can be given is that the duration of the game is no more than 20 minutes if the user plays VR content that requires a lot of body movement. Apart from that, it is also proposed to reduce moving places and move the head slowly to maintain a balanced body posture so that the level of cybersickness can be reduced.
