A Study on the Perception of Learning Transfer to Sports Fields in Community-Based Sports Capstone Design Courses

This study examines how students majoring in Sports Health Management perceive and experience learning transfer in the context of Community-Based Sports Capstone Design courses. It investigates how students apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges, particularly in addressing community health issues and engaging with the sports industry. The research involved 28 third-year students from the Department of Sports Health Management at C University.A combination of both quantitative and qualitative research methods was employed to analyze student experiences.Textual data from student reflections and project reports were processed using word frequency analysis, TF-IDF (Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency), N-gram techniques through Textom, and indepth qualitative analysis.Findings suggest that students successfully transferred their academic knowledge into practical settings, demonstrating improved problem-solving, teamwork, and hands-on industry-related skills.Specific examples of learning transfer include entrepreneurial initiatives in the sports industry, developing community health promotion projects, and designing programs supporting marginalized populations. These findings highlight the significant role of community-based capstone design courses in bridging the gap between theoretical education and practical application.By integrating academic learning with community engagement, these courses provide valuable opportunities for students to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.Ultimately, this study offers insights into sports health management education, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning in preparing students for their professional careers.
