The pendulums of Arcetri Observatory

Arcetri Observatory has two pendulum clocks dating back to the late 18th and early 19th centuries which came from the Specola in Via Romana. Their history is traced here, together with that of other pendulums which have now been lost, and of a last arrival, a late 19th-century pendulum donated by the engineer Giacomo Franceschini in 2023.
