This news section offers Cancer readers timely information on events, public policy analysis, topical issues, and personalities. In this issue, “Cancer Statistics, 2025” reports that the cancer mortality rate continued to decline through 2022 because of smoking reductions, earlier detection for some cancers, and improved treatment. Also, dairy products—largely because of calcium—may help to protect against colorectal cancer, and childhood cancer survivors have a 2‐fold increased risk of melanoma in comparison with the general population.
