A Generalized Saturated Liquid-Vapor Pressure Equation Based on Critical and Triple Point Temperature and Pressure Data
Saturated liquid-vapor pressure (SLVP) is an important thermodynamic property with extensive industrial and academic applications. Many existing SLVP relations are developed for a specific substance or rely on extensive substance-specific model parameters, limiting their general applicability. The widely used approaches like the Lee-Kesler, Dong-Lienhard, and Ambrose-Walton equations are based on reduced temperature-pressure properties, providing relatively high accuracy for a large group of substances and require Pitzer acentric factor values, which are derived from the reduced saturation pressure at the reduced temperature point of 0.7.This work-in-progress study is an attempt to present a generalized SLVP equation employing solely critical and triple point temperature and pressure data, which enables simplicity and general applicability across many substances. The final equation utilizes reduced pressure and temperature parameters derived from critical and triple point properties, eliminating the need for substance-specific constants. The overarching goal is to develop a relation that can accurately and consistently predict the saturation pressure from triple point to critical point across 133 pure substances.
