il neuroblastoma nel lattante: una neoplasia dalle molteplici possibili presentazioni
A 5-month-old infant was brought to the Paediatric Emergency Room with non-specific symptoms: irritability, poor feeding, weight loss and tachycardia. Clinical evaluation revealed severe hypertension and a large abdominal mass suggestive of neuroblastoma. After stabilization with invasive vascular access, fluid resuscitation, antihypertensive therapy and blood transfusion, the diagnosis of stage IV neuroblastoma with NMYC amplification was confirmed. This case highlights the need to consider oncologic causes in infants with subtle symptoms and to carefully balance the management of hypertensive crisis and hypovolemia.
