Study of Physicochemical Parameters of Pravara River in Sangamner Taluka of Ahilyanagar District, Maharashtra State
The Pravara River is the lifeline of Akole and Sangamner taluka of Ahilyanagar District as this river is providing water for agriculture and domestic uses. Therefore, it is important to know its water quality and hence present work is undertaken. Various physicochemical parameters were analysed by standard methods. The pH ranges from 7.4 to 7.8 during the study period. The temperature was found to be in the range of 27oC to 28.6oC during the study period. The Electric conductivity ranges from 0.824 S/m to 1.186 S/m. The Alkalinity was observed in the range of 282 mg/lit to 334 mg/lit. The Hardness ranges from 267.3 mg/lit to 315 mg/lit. The TDS was found to be in the range of 254 ppm to 323 ppm. The dissolved oxygen ranges from 3.2 to 6.4 mg/lit. The Dissolved CO2 was observed in the range of 28.5 mg/lit to 33.6 mg/lit during the study period.
