Evaluasi Pengaruh Pengeluaran Sektor Publik terhadap Pembangunan Manusia dan Kemiskinan di Sulawesi Selatan (2016-2022)

This study aims to identify the direct and indirect effects of public sector expenditure on poverty through the Human Development Index (HDI) in South Sulawesi Province. During the period from 2016 to 2022, despite a decrease in public sector expenditure, there was an increase in HDI and a reduction in poverty rates. This research analyzes secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance of the Ministry of Finance of South Sulawesi Province, using multiple linear regression analysis and path analysis with E-Views 12. The results show that health sector expenditure has a significant positive effect on HDI and a significant negative effect on poverty. Meanwhile, education sector expenditure negatively affects HDI but does not have a significant impact, although it is significant in reducing poverty. Infrastructure sector expenditure positively affects HDI but is not significant, and has a negative but non-significant effect on poverty. These findings provide insights into the role of public sector expenditure in reducing poverty and improving human development quality in South Sulawesi.
