From Text to Treatment: Large Language Models in Clinical Practice and Medical Research
Large language models have proven to be highly versatile tools applicable to many different subject areas and industries, including medicine. LLMs such as ChatGPT can understand and create human-like text, answer open questions without specialization, and operate in a variety of areas. They have elicited both optimism and rising fear of usage in healthcare. Specifically, the flow examines how LLMs began in healthcare and the present applications to clinical care, education, and research. LLM advantages discussed include improving exclu-sively unique tasks, increasing communication with patients, and providing administrative data and backing for experimentation efforts. However, this study also considers critical weaknesses and challenges such as predisposition, Ambiguous reasoning, and potential misinformation, as well as different consequences of applying LLM to biomedical challenges. It is included as an overview for clinical and experimenting to provide an informed decision when deciding if LLMs should be integrated into medical care. The unbiased use of LLMs can enhance patient care and increase the understanding of its practice.
