Survey of Industry X.0 Paradigm for Sustainable and Smart Warehouse Management

The growing challenges in industries demand increasingly intelligent and adaptable solutions. After the Covid-19 pandemic, businesses have recognized the importance of considering uncertain events and sustainability. This awareness has led to increased adoption of innovative technologies and a reconfiguration of commercial strategies to better anticipate future crises and promote resilience. In this context, heightened interest in Industry X.0, or the industry of the future, has emerged. Industry X.0 represents a holistic approach to create more flexible, efficient, responsive, and personalized industrial systems while reducing costs, minimizing environmental impact and increasing social responsibility. Industry X.0 significantly impacts every stage of the supply chain. Our paper will focus specifically on warehouse management within the Industry X.0 context. We will identify the latest discoveries and research in this area, examining the challenges, gaps, and problems to pinpoint areas for improvement through advanced technologies, process optimization, and workforce development. We will highlight the crucial role of warehouse management in optimizing the supply chain, including enhancing inventory management, reducing storage costs, and improving responsiveness to demand fluctuations. By integrating advanced technologies and innovative approaches, warehouses can become smarter, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable supply chain.
