Advancement in Underwater Optical Communication using DP-QPSK and DP-16 QAM Modulation Technique with APD Receiver
Underwater Wireless optical communication (UWOC) offers high Bandwidth & low latency solutions for underwater data transmission. The selection of modulation techniques to ensure reliable and efficient communication. In this study, it is analyzed on a 532nm laser diode (LD) for 10Gbits/s by using Dual polarization Quadrature Phase Shift Keying (DP-QPSK) and Dual Polarization 16-Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (DP-16QAM) techniques. Here, the optical signal was transmitted through the different types of Underwater environments such as Pure Sea (PS), Clear Ocean (CL), Coastal Ocean (CO), Harbor I, (HA-I), & Harbor II (HA-II). Also, PIN and APD Photo detectors are used for the performance analysis. It is observed that APD with DP-QPSK modulation techniques gives a better performance.
