BASIS OF THE BUFFER FLUID FORMULATION FOR PACKING CASE COLUMNS
Well casing is a technological process associated with the selection of cement mixtures and their delivery to the well casing space to create a barrier in the path of formation fluids. For this process, cement solutions are most often used, the properties and formulation of which significantly affect the quality of the casing. The quality of well casing depends on geological and technological conditions, the condition of the wellbore, the properties of drilling and cement solutions, etc. In particular, it is believed that the main reason for poor-quality well casing is the violation or lack of adhesion of the cement stone to the rock, as a result of which there are casing overflows and fluid manifestations, and rapid waterlogging of the well. The buffer fluid serves as an intermediate barrier between the drilling and cement solutions during well casing and prevents mixing, contamination and an increase in the degree of displacement of the drilling mud by cement. Most cement and drilling fluids are not compatible with each other, which causes a decrease in the efficiency of mud displacement by cement and contributes to a decrease in the quality of well support. Therefore, the use of an effective buffer fluid is a necessary condition for well cementing.
