ADULTS RETURNING TO STUDIES (ARS) CASE OF IBN TOFAIL UNIVERSITY

In a context of promoting the learning society, marked by an increase and diversification of students at university, which is already distinguished by its structure, the extent of its space, the plurality of disciplines, the diversity of students, the timetable and the particular use of time, the aim of this research is to analyze the experience of adults returning to study. In Morocco, a large university such as Ibn Tofail welcomes young people from different cities and is indeed a place where there is a high concentration of adult students who are enrolled there to resume their studies. It is interesting to examine this diversity from a sociological point of view in order to understand its various aspects: relational, motivational, cultural or economic. The aim of this study, carried out with a group of Adult Learners Returning to Education (ARE), is to attempt to explain their motivations for returning to university studies. Is it professional? Is it social? And to see how this period of study unfolds alongside younger students.
