Application of glass plastic pipes in drainage systems: material properties and review of regulatory requirements

With the growing demand for efficient and reliable water infrastructure, fiberglass pipes, while offering a number of advantages, are highly promising for use in water supply and drainage systems due to their corrosion resistance, low weight, high strength-to-weight ratio and smooth finish inner surface. The purpose of the study was to assess the suitability of fiberglass pipes for use in the field of pipeline transport, including for drainage systems. For this purpose, a comprehensive analysis of their physical and mechanical characteristics and comparison with the requirements of Russian and international regulatory documents (Code of Practice, GOST, GOST R, state standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan ST RK, American standards AWWA, ASTM, etc.) was carried out.
