Seismic Hazard Analysis in Malang Raya Through Classical PSHA Method Using OpenQuake with Spatial Approach

Proper seismic hazard assessment of Malang Raya region has been provided in this study using Classical PSHA method run within OpenQuake software. By infusing an advanced seismic source model, ground motion prediction equations, and Vs30 within the site, we are able to develop comprehensive hazard maps, showing the spatial distribution of peak ground acceleration. This shows that the values are high for the southern parts of the Malang District especially Donomulyo and Gedangan that range between 0.27g to 0.51g, for 0-second period. The mean spectral acceleration values for the 0.2-second and 1-second period also indicate a high potential of seismic hazard that reach up to 0.63g to 1.28g, and values ranging between 0.31, to 0.60 g in this region. The findings support the earthquake impact measure at the local level that will assist in putting in place urbanization plans and disaster risk reduction.
