Jesus Christ as Social Philosopher: The Inclusive Sociability and Its Implications for Christians in Indonesia
Indonesia is a nation full of diverse beliefs. Nevertheless, differences in beliefs are still an urgent issue that needs to be resolved. There has been much research on how to build peace, but there is little philosophical talk about peace from a particular figure, specifically from a Christian perspective. This research argues that Jesus Christ is a social philosopher with inclusive sociability relevant to the context of a plural society and motivates the Christian movement in Indonesia. This research aimed to analyse how Jesus, as a social philosopher, applies inclusive sociability and the implications for Christians in Indonesia. The research method was qualitative, using two approaches: content analysis and conversation analysis. The research found that Jesus is a social philosopher based on logical thinking and humanising behaviour. Jesus mingled across cultures and accepted sociocultural differences while implementing unconditional love, unlimited forgiveness, and selfless humility. The meaning of Jesus as a social philosopher contributes to and influences Indonesian Christians to continue building friendships and creating harmony amidst differences.
