Inside of Super Mario Bros Wii

I am interested in making art that touches on the experience of escapism and nostalgia. We know what video games look like on a screen, but I wonder what it would look like if we were to physically step into those worlds. What would our surroundings look like? How would it contrast with our reality? These are the questions I want a viewer to think about when they imagine themselves inside a video game. I want their experience to be exciting, colorful, and nostalgic. Inside of Super Mario Bros Wii, 2024. Acrylic on canvas, 18" x 24".

Abstract

I am interested in making art that touches on the experience of escapism and nostalgia. We know what video games look like on a screen, but I wonder what it would look like if we were to physically step into those worlds. What would our surroundings look like? How would it contrast with our reality? These are the questions I want a viewer to think about when they imagine themselves inside a video game. I want their experience to be exciting, colorful, and nostalgic. Inside of Super Mario Bros Wii, 2024. Acrylic on canvas, 18" x 24".
