Coaching Methods and Techniques Used in Teaching Biological Sciences
The paper presents some coaching methods and techniques that can be used in the teaching of biological sciences. Practical learning is focused on developing professional skills. Through coaching, students gain a deep understanding of the organization and functioning of the school institution and experience different concrete ways of teaching-learning-evaluation. Micro-teaching is important for the development of specific skills. Role playing can be used to train professional skills. The development of transversal skills can be achieved through decision and arbitration games, "what if..." and changing attitudes. The free seat technique, the technique of inviting absentees allows practicing some interactions with people involved in the educational act. These methods and techniques contribute to the formation of a system of beliefs, values and attitudes. Successful completion of professional and teaching roles involves a practical approach to all theoretical knowledge accumulated over years of study.
