Anxiety and Anxiety Modulation with Natural Extracts in a Physical StressModel

People with an anxiety disorder have excessive and unrealistic feelings that interfere with their relationship life. Anxiety disorders vary in types, causes and symptoms, being more common in women than men. Linden silvery buds (LSE) and birch seeds extracts (BSE) have beneficial effects on the nervous system and state of fatigue. Aims. We assessed the impact of two natural extracts, LSE and BSE, on physical stress model. Methods. Chosen subjects were 39 participants, divided into three groups: control, untreated (C=13); treated with LSE, for 21 days before the effort (E1=13); treated with LSE+BSE, for 21 days before the effort (E2=13). Stress was represented by pedaling on the ergonomic bicycle until the feeling of fatigue appears. Heart rate (HR) and anxiety (A) were analyzed. Results. HR and A were significantly reduced immediately pre-and posteffort moments, under the LSE and LSE+BSE influence. There were differences between E1, respectively E2, and C, for HR and A dynamic developments. 3) The LSE+BSE influence, on parameters, was higher compared to LSE, immediately pre-and poststres. Conclusions. The LSE and BSE natural extracts we used, may represent a method of physical stress modulation.
