On the issue of the localization of the possession of Jidan (the Kingdom of the Huns, Suvar)
This article examines the localization of the political entity of Jidan. After the collapse of the Western Turkic Khaganate at the end of the 7th century, the Khazar state was formed. It included the Kingdom of the Huns, known as Suvar. This possession is known in Arabic sources as Jidan. The works of researchers mention various points of view on the localization of Jidan. The borders of the political entities of Dagestan, including Jidan, changed depending on the internal situation and the international situation in the Caucasus. The political entity of Jidan, which existed independently in the 8th - 10th centuries, became an integral part of the Kaitag Utsmiatewith the strengthening of its territory. Medieval sources were used when writing the article.
