ENHANCING ACCESS CONTROL IN EDUCATIONAL SIOT USING BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY

In order to allow educational IoT devices to form social connections and provide academic services, the Social Internet of Things (SIoT) paradigm has been incorporated into the education sector. In the educational setting, however, where gadgets must be socially connected according to their academic responsibilities and activities, the social links are not adjusted. Additionally, the implementation of an access control mechanism becomes increasingly necessary as a result of the interchange of services. Social limitations, such the kind of social interaction and the frequency of communication, are important considerations when making an access choice in the Internet of Things. Nevertheless, these limitations cannot be defined as contextual conditions or device characteristics using the eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) standard. In this work, we propose an application-specific blockchain-based Educational Social Internet of Things (EducationalSIoT) platform where we define new social interactions for educational gadgets. We propose expanding the XACML policy model to take social considerations into account in order to limit access to academic services. In light of this, we modify the policy assessment procedure and provide priority-based combining algorithms. Furthermore, by establishing delegation norms and managing the delegation process while taking social aspects into account, our platform guarantees the transfer of access rights. According to the simulation findings, a delegation request is reviewed in 0.32 ms and an access request in 0.22 ms when social elements are included. Lastly, we promise that our platform is safe against replay and man-in-the-middle assaults.
