БЕЛЕШКЕ ЗА ИСТОРИЈУ РАДИВОЈА МИЛОЈКОВИЋА
Abstract: A manuscript by Radivoj Milojković (1833–1888), a long-time official in the executive and judicial authorities of the Principality and Kingdom of Serbia, has been prepared for publication. This manuscript contains data from the political, social, and legal history of the Principality of Serbia from the beginning of 1865 to 1867, hitherto almost entirely unknown in historiography. The manuscript represents an exceptionally significant historical source because it comes from the pen of a contemporary and sheds light not only on the historical events but also on the daily lives of Prince Mihailo and Princess Julija, stories that could be heard around the marketplace, reflections among officials on political events, and certain aspects of life in the capital in the mid-1860s. The second part of the manuscript deals with the question of acquiring cities, with Milojković, as an observer, providing a detailed description of the ceremony of handing over the keys and raising the Serbian flag, and depicting the general mood prevailing in Belgrade at the time. The prepared source is kept in the State Archives of Serbia, within the collection of Gifts and Purchases, under signature k. 70, no 355. Keywords: Radivoj Milojković, Prince Mihailo Obrenović, court, the issue of acquiring cities, social life.
