Women Safety Alert System Using IoT with Fingerprint Authentication and Real-Time Alerts

The primary goal of this paper is to develop a Women's Safety Alert System based on Internet of Things (IoT) which addresses safety issues women encounter in their daily life by adopting newer and more effective technologies. The system is developed with the help of IoT sensors including fingerprint module for security, GSM module for transmitting SMS and GPS module for location tracking. The fingerprint authentication feature is only triggered by a 5-second press on the sensor to avoid sending fake emergency alerts. Once the system is turned on, an emergency SMS alert is sent to the specified individuals along with the user's GPS location, thus enabling them to respond promptly and immediately. Even in the absence of conventional network, the system provides a dependable connection. With a simple and easy to use interface, the system is useful in both the urban and rural areas imparting a sense of safety and security among its users. In addition, along with incorporation of modern technologies this solution also proves to be a practical safety measure in ensuring women's safety by being more adaptable, flexible and scalable. It has a lot of potential to expand this work across other areas in order to tackle some of the challenges in society in order to make the world a safer place for women [1].
