Dr.B.R.AMBEDKAR AS AN ECONOMIST: A VISIONARY FOR INCLUSIVE GROWTH
Abstract Dr. B.R. Ambedkar is widely recognized as the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a social reformer, but his contributions as an economist remain relatively underexplored. His economic ideas, rooted in social justice, state intervention, and planned development, played a crucial role in shaping India’s financial and industrial policies. His work in monetary economics, public finance, labor rights, and land reforms laid the foundation for an inclusive economy. Ambedkar believed that economic justice was integral to social justice, and this is reflected in his contributions to constitutional provisions such as the Directive Principles of State Policy. His economic vision remains relevant in contemporary discussions on economic growth, poverty alleviation, and sustainable development. Keywords B.R. Ambedkar, Economic Thought, Monetary Policy, Public Finance, Agriculture, Labor Rights, Inclusive Growth
