Research on the waiting area selection behavior of passengers at urban rail platforms
Passenger choices regarding platform waiting locations are influenced by a range of factors. This study explores passenger behavior in selecting train waiting areas by developing a model based on Logit modeling. Through the use of survey data from a station on Xi'an Metro Line 2, the parameters for the Logit model were established. The results indicate that the distance between the platform entrance and waiting area, the degree of congestion among passengers in the area of waiting, degree of visibility of the waiting area, and other factors all play significant roles in passengers' selection of waiting location. This model is intended to effectively fit passenger distribution on station platforms and provides valuable insights for enhancing operational efficiency within urban rail transit systems.
