Assessment of the function of external respiration in occupational chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with its isolated and comorbid course
Occupational chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and its complications play a significant role in shaping the structure of occupational morbidity. The aim of the study is to determine and analyze spirometric data in patients with an isolated course of PCBL and its combination with arterial hypertension. The study involved 235 males aged 35 to 65 years, who were divided into groups. The first group included 60 healthy volunteers, the control group. The second group consisted of 35 patients with stage I PCBL; the third group consisted of 50 patients with stage II PCBL; The fourth group consisted of 40 people with a combination of stage II COPD and arterial hypertension (AH); the fifth group consisted of 50 patients with isolated AH. It was found that occupational chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in combination with arterial hypertension is characterized by significantly lower values of spirometry indices relative to patients with isolated course of PCBL and those in the control group.
