Statistical analysis of skin cancer incidence in the population of the Oryol region

Skin cancer is one of the most common malignant neoplasms and is one of the causes of death worldwide. The aim of the study was to analyze the incidence of skin cancer in the Orel region in 2018–2023, for which data from official statistical observations were used. It was found that the incidence of skin cancer in the Orel region in 2018–2023 had a slight upward trend. The incidence of non-melanoma skin cancer was significantly higher than the incidence of melanoma among both men and women. At the same time, the incidence of all types of skin cancer in women was higher than that of men. When comparing the indicators in the studied region with those in the Russian Federation, they were slightly exceeded in the Orel region throughout the entire study period. Further research will allow for a more detailed assessment of the pathology structure, identify additional risk factors for its development and propose measures to counteract this problem.
