Three Intermediate Bronze Age Dolmensin the Golan Heights
A cluster of three Dolmens was excavated on the eastmost fringes of the Israeli Golan Heights, near moshav Qeshet. These megalithic structures belong to a broader burial field that includes about 30 dolmens in the plains between the streams of Masil el-Ja'adan and Masil el-Ghaname.The three dolmens yielded a rare assemblage of pottery dating to the Intermediate Bronze Age, including four handmade oil lamps. This assemblage further supports Claire Epstein's hypothesis regarding the dating of the dolmen phenomenon in the Golan. It emphasizes the cultural similarity between the various dolmen fields in the region and between the people who built them.
