A new species of Pseudosperma and first record of P. aureocitrinum (Agaricales, Inocybaceae) from Pakistan
During the fungal exploration of Himalayan moist temperate forests of Pakistan, different fruiting bodies of Pseudosperma were collected that were found to represent one new species, here described as Pseudosperma khanspuricum , and one new record for Pakistan, viz Pseudosperma aureocitrinum . Pseudosperma khanspuricum is characterized by its campanulate, fibrillose, small (to 2.2 cm), brownish yellow pileus with acute umbo, relatively long (to 5.2 cm) stipe, creamy white to light yellow lamellae and small (8.9 × 5.8 µm) basidiospores. A molecular phylogenetic reconstruction deduced from nrDNA internal transcribed spacer region (ITS) and larger subunit region (LSU) validate this as a new species and a new record. With these additions, 13 species of Psudosperma have been reported from Pakistan.
