Changes in performance indicators of qualified volleyball players according to the results of the coordination abilities development program

Despite the high complexity of mastering volleyball techniques, the issue of developing coordination abilities of novice volleyball players is not sufficiently covered in the available specialized literature. The apparent relevance of developing a well- founded coordination training program for volleyball players at the stage of specialized basic training has been established. The objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of a training program for developing volleyball players' coordination abilities in relation to performance indicators. Methods included theoretical analysis and synthesis of scientific and methodological literature, pedagogical observation, pedagogical experiment, and methods of mathematical statistics. Results. The pedagogical experiment confirmed the hypothesis about the positive impact of special coordination exercises on the growth of technical-tactical preparedness indicators. Our results showed that exercises for the combined development of different coordination abilities improve the technical-tactical actions of volleyball players, as high achievements in sports games and volleyball in particular largely depend on them. Experts consider this result a positive interference (transfer) of one more integral factor (abilities) to another less integral one (game technique). Conclusions. The quality of volleyball players' performance of volleyball game techniques does not directly depend on a single, even highly developed, coordination quality, but is determined by the combination of all, or most of them, as through the mechanism of compensations, an insufficiently high level of development of certain coordination abilities can be compensated by the strength of others. It was found that volleyball players with a higher level of coordination training demonstrate better effectiveness in game activities.
