Factors Influencing Health-Related Quality of Life(HINT-8) in Young and Middle-Aged Adults with Diabetes: Analysis of 2021 and 2023 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey

This study aimed to identify the personal, psychological, social, and environmental factors affecting Health-related Quality of Life (HRQoL) among young and middle-aged adults with diabetes, using Wilson and Cleary's model. It is a secondary data analysis based on data from 505 young and middle-aged diabetic patients who participated in the 2021 and 2023 Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey. The data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 26 with complex sample methods, including frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and linear regression. The results showed that factors such as dyslipidemia, gender, smoking, marital status, educational level, household income, economic activity, subjective health status, depression, stress, sleep duration, and physical activity significantly impacted HRQoL. The regression model explained approximately 33.9% of the variance in HRQoL. Based on these findings, it is recommended that a multidimensional nursing intervention program be developed to improve the HRQoL of young and middle-aged diabetic patients, grounded in Wilson and Cleary's model of HRQoL.
