Reliability and Predictability Matters: Atlanta SPS and SURF as a Whole
This paper discusses the successful transition from Atlanta Early Production System (EPS) to its Full Field Development (FFD), integrating Subsea Production Systems (SPS) and Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) as a whole. It addresses the relationship between installation contractors, flexible lines, umbilicals and equipment suppliers along the field development and the lessons learned from each phase. The complex transition from an EPS to a FFD comprised coordinating the arrival and mobilization of a new FPSO, demobilizing an operating one, and in the meanwhile, fill the gaps during the EPCI phase evaluating all unknown variables, seeking to stablish solid interfaces and follow up across all involved parties, in order to minimize potential risks given the reliability and predictability requirements of a major project as the Atlanta FFD.
