Modular Central-Located WTG Floating Offshore Wind Foundation

Abstract The proposed concept (patent pending) is a modular, centrally located Wind Turbine Generator (WTG) floating offshore wind foundation that features a simplified design, accelerated construction, and rapid assembly and installation. A method for counterbalancing the foundation (patent pending) is also presented and designed to be simple, with fast response times, ease of inspection and maintenance, high reliability, and remote operability. This paper explores novel approaches for floating offshore wind foundations, including new counterbalancing methods, and aims to drastically reduce overall costs, potentially by half or more. The proposed solutions are innovative and have the potential to transform existing technologies in the development of floating offshore wind energy.
