Nonneoplastic uveitis masquerade syndromes
Uveitis masquerade syndromes are a motley group of diverse clinical entities which mimic ocular inflammatory diseases but are resistant to conventional treatment modalities used in the management of uveitis. Confounding clinical presentations lead to misdiagnosis, and delay in treatment resulting in poor visual outcomes. These conditions include neoplastic as well as nonneoplastic entities. This review focuses on nonneoplastic uveitis masquerade syndromes through seven representative cases and discusses the relevant clinical features and imaging modalities that aid in making an accurate diagnosis.
